Texas HHSC Enters into Contract Negotiations with GEO Care to Privatize Terrell State Hospital

It was announced just before noon today that the Texas Department of Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) has awarded a tentative contract to GEO Care, LLC for the privatization of Terrell State Hospital. A large Kaufman County employer, the 942 employees of Terrell State Hospital have patiently waited for months for factual information on the hospitals operational turnover that was expected to take place by November 1, 2014.
